About this part
1:1 scale Kentucky Long Rifle American muzzleloader plastic kit. Measures 4 feet 5 inches long and is molded in brown and brass. Includes 72 parts plus an internal spring, a rifle rack for mounting, and box art worth framing. The kit copies a rifle built in the 1730s by German and Swiss gunsmiths near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Barrels ran up to 56 to 58 inches, and the stocks were mostly seasoned Pennsylvania maple, full length to support the barrel. It was based on the German Jager with some British fowling gun traits. Riflings spun the bullet and pushed accuracy past 200 yards. It was a frontier survival tool and fought in the Revolutionary War and War of 1812, though it was never a military issue weapon. Fits: general hobby plastic models; general hobby universal fit car parts.
