Team Associated and Yokomo have been partners since 1972, and the early-80s YZ-10 is a big chapter in that story. At the 1989 IFMAR Worlds in Australia, Cliff Lett, Masami Hirosaka, Jay Halsey, and Butch Kloeber ran the YZ-10 in 4WD while Team Associated's RC10s ruled 2WD. At the 1991 Worlds, Masami Hirosaka showed up late with the Yokomo Works '91 prototype. Built from the winning YZ-10, it had a graphite chassis and 2mm fine pitch drive belts, and Cliff Lett led it to the IFMAR victory.
