About this part
Moebius Models built this 1/8 scale EVA Pod out of precision-tooled styrene, and it's loaded with detail. Finished, it stands 10 inches high and 11 inches wide. Inside you get a detailed interior, poseable manipulator arms and an opening rear hatch. The kit comes with a full interior and exterior decal set and complete instructions. Cement and paint aren't included. Grab those separately. EVA Pods are small one-man transports built to work outside a spaceship, handling maintenance and complex jobs with arm and hand controls. The Discovery XD-1 carries three of them, named Alice, Betty and Clara. Each pod is self-sufficient, with maneuvering and life-support systems and a pressurized interior, so the astronaut can work without a full spacesuit. The Discovery's HAL9000 computer can also fly the pod remotely. When a monolith of apparent alien origin turns up in orbit around Jupiter, the Discovery gets sent out to check it.
