About this part
Kawasaki's sport bike pedigree has fans hooked for generations, and the Ninja ZX-12R raised the bar. As manufacturers chased 300km/h-plus super sports bikes, Kawasaki debuted this one at the 1999 Paris Motorcycle Show. It was reportedly styled after a fighter plane. Its slippery aero came from the Aerospace Division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and it spent more time in the wind tunnel than any Kawasaki bike before it. AERO
Features
- Small winglets on the fairing sides split the airflow. Small wind deflectors on the lower forks push turbulent air away from the engine. A long lip on the fairing edge smooths things out further. A big scoop ahead of the front fairing grabs high-pressure air for intake. The monocoque frame backbone works as an airbox that channels air through the bike for cooling.
