Ford trucks rank among the most popular vehicles in the United States, and the F-150 is a big part of that. Tamiya brings back one of its classic Ford truck kits: the iconic Ford F-150 Ranger XLT, with a list of updates. The Ranger XLT first came out as a 1/10 R/C kit in 1981. The 1980 F-150 Ranger was the first model of the seventh-generation F-series, with angular styling and a robust ladder frame. The truck was built to be both light and durable. Ranger is the top trim, with lots of outside extras like two-tone paint and chrome trim. The Free Wheeling Package option added stripes and a special color scheme. The re-release keeps the original body but adds newly molded side mirrors, wipers, headlights (separately sold LED lights can be fitted), a front section with grille and bumper guards, and a stealth front body mount with no front body mount holes for a more realistic look.
