A 1/48 scale model of the German Leopard 2 A7V main battle tank, part of Tamiya's Military Miniature Series. It uses one-third the parts of the 1/35 version, so it goes together easy and still looks exact. In May 2017 the Bundeswehr decided to upgrade the Leopard 2 to the A7V. It adds front hull armor and new running gear to handle the extra weight. The L/55 120mm gun carries over from the A6 and, with the latest ammo, can hit armor five kilometers out. The A7V also gets a sight to see better in poor visibility, new tracks and a new turret rear basket. 104 existing tanks are being upgraded, and units began receiving them in September 2021. Length 234mm, width 80mm. Square headlights, front added armor plate and the updated turret rear shape are captured from extensive research on the real tank. Fits general hobby plastic models.
