Plastic Model Kit, 1:350 Scale U.S. Battleship BB-62 New Jersey - Tamiya

About this part

The Big J. Tamiya's 1:350 USS New Jersey (BB-62) is built to match the ship circa 1982. The 45,000-ton Iowa-class was the largest and last battleship class built by the U.S. Navy. New Jersey was the second ship in that class. She served in WWII from early 1944 and was pulled from front-line duty in 1948. She came back for the Korean and Vietnam wars, then went to reserve in 1969. In 1981, the Iowa-class modernization program picked New Jersey as the first ship. She got Tomahawk and Harpoon missiles, Phalanx CIWS and new radars and electronics. She stayed a missile battleship until her final decommissioning in 1991, was struck from the register in 1995, and became a floating museum in Philadelphia. FITS: general hobby plastic models
